Burner- Mash Tun
For the mash tun, I wanted to have two burners underneath it to spread out the heat a little better and reduce scorching when doing a step mash. One problem was going to be the slopped bottom design of the mash tun.
The easiest way I could think of to
provide a base that would work is to make a bent L out of
tubing with the angle of the L's stem equal to that of
the sloped bottom. In other words, the tubing runs
parallel to the mash tun bottom. The short leg of the L
was welded to the top cross member (labeled Top Width)
for support. For burners, I used a couple of Metal Fusion burners I had laying around. The mount using a screw in the middle of the burner. In order to get it to work, I drilled a couple of holes on the tubing and welded on a couple of stainless steel nuts over the holes. All you have to do is screw the burners on. |
