Celebrating 20 years of
Homebrewing November 1997
Volume 20, Issue 11
October Meeting
Octobers
Officer Nominations meeting was light. No one brought
homebrew, so the meeting wrapped up early.
The afternoon
was saved by the quick thinking of John Leichel who
brought commercial examples of Oktoberfest style. John
brought Thomas Kemper Oktoberfest Lager (malty flavor),
Hacker-Pschorr Märzen Amber (favored over Thomas
Kemper), Hacker-Pschorr Original Oktoberfest (nice), and
North Coast Brewing Companys Oktoberfest Ale
(grapefruity).
The two big
business items are the 1998 National BABO and the Holiday
Party. The BABO information is contained in this
newsletter. A request of Club members: save any
partitioned cardboard cases to be used for the
competition intake. It makes storage much safer and
easier.
As for the
Christmas Holiday Party, we are actively looking for a
good location. Your suggestions are requested. The site
must have a private room to seat 20-30 people, be
sufficiently festive, allow us to bring our own beer,
must serve good food and clean up afterward, be in the
Bay Area, and not cost too much.
Officer
nominations were gathered throughout the month of
October. Elections for the 2-year positions will be held
at the November meeting. And the initial nominees are:
President
- Roger St. Denis, Lisa Gros
Vice

Steward

Treasurer
- Bruce Brazil
Secretary
/ Editor - Lisa Gros

Write-ins are
permitted, so dont miss the November meeting.
