Walnut Creek Pub
Crawl
by Bob Jones
The Draught
Board is going to do a walking pub crawl to four brew
establishments in the Walnut Creek area. Two are
microbreweries, one is a brew-on-premises and one is a
small funky little pub with a good beer selection. For
those interested, there is a great place near by with an
outrageous wine bar, so side trips are possible.
Plan to meet at the Walnut Creek BART
station between 11:00 and 11:30 am. Whether you are
driving or BARTing there, lets meet in the BART
station near the ticket machines. We will visit the Black
Diamond Brewing company first (since its close by)
have a beer, then move on to the downtown area for the
balance of the crawl. There are three additional places
very close to each other with lots of food establishments
nearby. We will discuss the food possibilities when we
get there.
Plan on doing
some walking that day, so bring good footwear. The
longest walk is about 1 mile, but expect to walk about 2
miles over the course of the day. However, there will be
lots of stops for refreshments during the walk.
See you then!
