Here is the info on the BJCP exam for the San Francisco Bay Area and the study group that will help people to prepare for the test.

You may take the exam, do the study group, or both.

The test:

Date: January 18th. Time and Place TBA.

I am now ready to start accepting checks. Please make them out to me, Jeremy Bergsman. The cost is $50 for first time takers, $30 for retakes. If you have taken the exam before and would like to retake just the written or tasting part, please contact me. 10% of the fee goes to me for the room, copying, beer tasting, postage, etc., the rest goes to the BJCP.

The study group:

On September 27 I will survey those who have actually sent me exam checks for their favorite day/time for the study group. This is not the deadline for checks, but an incentive to get them in early so I can plan how many people will be there.

The study group will be 6 weekly sessions starting in early November. You get a month after the end to review and cram. I am working on the syllabus.

The study group will cost an additional ~$25 for the beer we will drink. When the details are all set for that I will collect the money for that.
